The FRABA Group, a leading international manufacturer of sensors for industrial motion control applications, had a successful 2025, with sales of € 46 million, up by 7% from the previous year. There was also an increase in the number of employees to nearly 400, due largely to higher staff levels at the group’s manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This facility, designed for high-volume manufacturing, addresses the growing demand for Wiegand components and POSITAL’s popular kit encoders and inclinometers. Production has also begun, on a more limited scale, in China.
An important development in 2025 was the establishment of FRABA India Pvt Ltd, located in Pune, India. This is a dedicated sales and customer service office that builds upon POSITAL’s 25 years of experience in India and supports the existing network of distributors. It is intended to streamline supply chains and enhance technical assistance to businesses involved in automation and motion sensing applications. As Christian Leeser, FRABA’s CEO and principal shareholder stated: “India is a dynamic and expanding market. Establishing a direct presence enables us to serve our customers more efficiently, pursue emerging opportunities, and contribute to regional innovation.”
The FRABA group continues to make significant investments in the promising world of Wiegand technologies. The new UBITO-branded ASIC module for event sensing and counting applications has been well accepted as a solution for multiturn encoders. (This ultra-efficient chip can operate with the energy generated by a Wiegand sensor, serving as part a self-powered counting system that does away with the need for backup batteries.)
Leeser continues: “Achieving growth and maintaining stable operations during a period of trade uncertainty and supply chain disruptions has been a major achievement. I am very proud of how our people dealt with challenges such as interruptions in the supply of rare-earth magnets. We believe that our combination of leading-edge technologies, global reach, and responsiveness to emerging markets – such as advanced robotics – provide a solid basis for further success.”
