By using a magnetic principle the MAGNETOCODE (MCD) from POSITAL is a low-cost solution. A Hall Effect sensing chip determines the rotation angle with 12 bit resolution, suitable for most applications. For multi-turn use, a unique method is employed without the need for a battery.

No-Battery/Multi-Turn Sensing

The MCD harnesses the inherent energy in the magnetic field to count turns, should there be a loss of power to the encoder. Therefore no external or internal battery is employed for multi-turn tracking in the for absolute position.

CANopen Protocol

CANopen is a fully open fieldbus protocol. The interface is integrated directly into the encoder for ease of installation. The MCD supports the highest level of services & settings available under the Device Profile.
